Pruning

Anvil Pruner

  • Ideal for non-exacting cutting such as thinning of shrubs.
  • Suited for cutting of dead wood.
  • High carbon steel heat treated blades.
  • Teflon coated blades extend equipment life and reduce pruning effort.

TIPS & HINTS

  • When pruning small branches with hand pruners, make sure the tools are sharp enough to cut the branches cleanly without tearing.
  • Remove structurally weak and dead limbs first. Cut off limbs that appear dead or limbs with leaves that look distressed.
  • Roses should not be pruned before mid-July in most regions of South Africa. Pruning late in July and early August is perfectly agreeable to the rose and delaying the pruning even further will result in the roses flowering later in October.
